# Pre-launch products

Use a waitlist form to collect interest **before a product goes live**.

<figure><img src="/files/ydxf9ho2pW8pBJvZ27U6" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### How it works

1. Create a waitlist form in the app.
2. Go to the **Visibility** section.
3. Select the product, variant, or collection that is not yet available.
4. (Optional) Hide the Buy button and show the waitlist form instead.
5. Save your changes.

Customers can sign up to be notified before the product is released.

#### Why use this?

* **Build demand before launch**\
  Collect emails and measure interest before investing in inventory or marketing.
* **Create launch momentum**\
  Notify interested customers the moment the product goes live.
* **Perfect for new products or collections**\
  Test demand without opening sales early.
* **Reduce risk**\
  Launch with confidence, backed by real customer interest.

Use a waitlist to collect interest **before a product is available for purchase**.

#### Real examples

* **Fashion brand**\
  A store launching a new seasonal collection collects waitlist signups before production. High demand products are prioritized.
* **Electronics store**\
  A new gadget or accessory is announced early to capture interest before stock arrives.
* **Beauty & cosmetics**\
  A limited-edition product launch gathers emails in advance to create urgency and hype.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://minimateapps.gitbook.io/mini-vacation-or-notify-me/use-cases/pre-launch-products.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
