# Getting customer insights

Use waitlists to understand **which products customers want most**.

#### How it works

1. Add waitlist forms to selected products or variants.
2. Collect emails (and optional fields like name or phone number).
3. Review data in **Reports** and **Shopify Customers**.

<div><figure><img src="/files/1H1ahfRLZmXTOKDUCG3U" alt="Subscribers for Product "><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/LUqwdEV3A9gXfpYTKNQr" alt="Variant Detail"><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

#### Why use this?

* **Identify high-demand products**\
  See which products receive the most waitlist signups.
* **Plan inventory smarter**\
  Restock based on real demand, not guesses.
* **Understand variant-level interest**\
  Discover which sizes, colors, or versions customers prefer.
* **Segment customers for future campaigns**\
  Use tags to create targeted email segments in Shopify.

#### Real examples

* **Apparel store**\
  Discover which sizes or colors customers want most.
* **Home & living**\
  Compare interest between similar product styles before restocking.
* **Seasonal products**\
  Measure demand before bringing back last year’s items.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://minimateapps.gitbook.io/mini-vacation-or-notify-me/use-cases/getting-customer-insights.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
