# How to test a real back-in-stock scenario?

Back-in-stock notifications are triggered **only when a product is restocked**.

Before testing, make sure the product is **out of stock** and has an active **waitlist**.

To test this :

1. Create a waitlist for an **out-of-stock product**.
2. Enter your test email on the product page.
3. Go to **Shopify Admin → Products**.
4. Increase the inventory level for that product.
5. The notification email should arrive at your test email address within **2–3 minutes**.
