# Create your first waitlist form

Step-by-step guide to creating your first waitlist form and making it live on your store.

## 1. Formats 

Use the Format section to customize text, control buy button visibility, and adjust marketing settings.

#### Text

* **Message:**Add a custom message and style it freely. Change colors, apply bold or italic text, highlight important parts, and more.
* **Label Title:** Add a title above the email collection field.
* **Placeholder:** Use a placeholder to emphasize your message and guide customers on what to enter.
* **Sign-up Button Text:** Customize the text displayed on the sign-up button.

**Color**

* **Label Font Color:** Change the color of the label title text.
* **Sign-up Button Color:** Customize the button color to match your brand.
* **Border Color:** Adjust the border color of the waitlist form.
* **Background Color:** Set a background color that fits your store design.

#### Size

* **Font Size:** Adjust the font size for all text elements.
* **Sign-up Button Radius:** Control the roundness of the sign-up button corners.

### Additional Questions on Waitlist Form

Add extra fields—such as name or phone number—to your waitlist form if needed.\
Click this option then customize these fields based on your requirements.

### &#x20;**Marketing Settings - GDPR**

Select a marketing consent option to stay GDPR-compliant.

**Option 1: Automatic subscription**\
Customers are automatically subscribed to your email marketing list. All collected emails will be added without showing a consent checkbox.

**Option 2: Customer opt-in**\
Show a marketing consent checkbox on the form, allowing customers to choose whether they want to receive marketing emails.\
The consent message can be customized, and the checkbox can be set as selected by default or left unchecked.

## 2. Visibility

Use the Visibility section to choose where your waitlist form appears. Control product selection, automate behavior for sold-out items, and set display rules.

### Display settings

Select the products where the waitlist form should be shown.

### Automated Waitlist **Sold-Out Products**

Enable this option to automatically show the waitlist form only when products are sold out.

If this option is disabled, the waitlist form will appear on all selected products, regardless of stock status.

### Buy Button Visibility&#x20;

Control whether the buy buttons are hidden automatically. There’s no need to remove them manually in your theme editor.

When this option is enabled ✅ , the buy button is hidden and replaced with the waitlist form you created.

If buy buttons were already removed manually and this option is also enabled, it may cause conflicts. Please review this guide to avoid issues.

### Schedule&#x20;

Set a start and end date to show the form during a specific time period, on top of your existing visibility rules.

## 3. Emails&#x20;

The **Emails** section allows you to customize the email notifications  sent by the app to your customers and store. You can enable or disable specific email types and personalize their content, sender details, and appearance to match your store.

The email settings are divided into three main types:

1. **Restock notification** – Sent to customers when a product or variant they requested becomes available again. For detailed instructions, see [How do I set up customer restock email notifications?](/mini-vacation-or-notify-me/how-to.../how-do-i-set-up-customer-restock-email-notifications.md)
2. **Confirmation email** – Sent to customers to confirm that their waitlist request has been successfully submitted.
3. **Merchant notification** – Sent to the store owner or merchant when a customer joins the waitlist.

You can also use the **ON/OFF toggle** to enable or disable the email functionality, and **Send Test Email** to preview how your emails will look before they are sent to customers.

#### Sender and Domain

The **Sender and domain** settings apply to all emails and let you choose how your emails are sent. You can use the **Minimate Apps default domain** (`notification@minimateapps.com`) with no setup required, or connect **your own email address or custom domain** for sending.
