# How do I customize the message shown during upload?

Customize the status messages customers see while their file uploads — and translate them into any language to match your store.

* Please go to the **"Appearance"** tab while creating or editing a field
* Scroll down and expand the **Upload status labels** section
* Here you can customize the messages customers see during the upload flow:
* **Uploading text** — shown while a file is uploading (default: "Uploading...")
* **Upload complete text** — shown once a file finishes uploading (default: "Upload complete")
* **Tap to cancel text** — the link customers tap to stop an upload in progress (default: "tap to cancel")
* **Tap to undo text** — the link customers tap to remove a completed upload (default: "tap to undo")
